Camp Rules . . .
In order for everyone to enjoy a safe holiday at our camp, it is necessary to have a few rules.
Potentially Disruptive Groups will not be permitted.
Payment: Registration and payment are required on arrival. Any campers who do not do so will be required to leave.
Water: Drinking water should be boiled.
Fires: For safety reasons these are not permitted, as per Waitaki District Council regulations. Campers should all have their own fire extinguishers in case of fire. The Fire Evacuation area for all campers in the camp is the paddock known as the airstrip located beside the ablution block and as indicated by the fire evacuation sign. To raise the alarm in the event of fire, sound a car horn continuously.
Dogs: Dogs are permitted so long as they are kept on a lead while inside the camp, and so long as they pose no threat or inconvenience to other campers or livestock. All dogs must be dosed for Hydatids prior to arrival.
Noise: Campers need to be considerate to all campers. All noise is to cease by 11pm.
Health & Safety: Any person entering any part of Totara Peak Station other than the camp must log in to our Health & Safety Programme. This is to inform you of any potential hazards. To do so, go to our Health & Safety page.
Trail Bikes: These are not permitted in the camp, or anywhere on Totara Peak Station.
Shooting: No firearms in the camp. Shooting on the property without permission could result in a police prosecution.
Chemical Toilets: These are to be emptied in our dump station (behind our toilet and shower block), or at any other approved dump station. People with camp sites out of the campground (along lake edge and honeypot paddock) must have their own camp toilets. No toilet – no camping out of camp ground.
Kiosk: Please advise children not to write on kiosk
Equipment: All equipment, including tents, boats, camping items etc is left at owners risk and is not the responsibility of Benmore Views Family Camp. All items relating to camping must be removed at the end of the season.
